Lord of the Flies

When was the relationship between Ralph and Jack destructive in Lord of the Flies?

I understand Ralph and Jacks relationship was constructive at the start, giving each other leadership roles. But could someone lists points, referencing the chapter to destructive parts of their relationship?

I think Jack is clearly the antagonist that makes their relationship destructive. Jack simply wants to be chief and have total power. Jack frequently undermines Ralph during meetings. He challenges Ralph's instructions and does not follow through with his responsibilities. You should be able to find examples of this in most every chapter. At the very least you can check out the GradeSaver summary pages.

I found that they started having an abusive relationship in Chapter 3. That was when Ralph and Simon were building the huts on the beach to make the stay for the little'uns easier while they were there and all Jack could talk about was hunting pigs. Jack was always questioning Ralphs leadership and wanted getting rescued to become a second priority.
