When Ralph made two requests and received no response, he asked, "Don't you understand." In what ways however, did Ralph show his profound lack of understanding?

Ralph reminds Jack's hunters that they need the glasses, and that they have to keep the fire burning if they want to be rescued. The hunters don't care..... their thoughts no longer include thoughts of rescue and home...... they merely think of themselves and survival. Ralph shows his profound lack of understanding when he fails to comprehend that the hunters simply don't care.
