I use this novel regularly in my classroom, therefore, my impression of the novel is one of complete respect. The dialog is difficult, but the subject matter is engrossing............. the kids love it and waste no time completing it.

The story itself is a mesmerizing compilation of good vs evil, and how base the nature of humanity really is. We look at these characters and think, "What would I do? Or even, "I could never do that," and yet we can't really say 'never.' In the children we see innate behaviors and learned behaviors. Simon is the 'Christ' figure, Ralph is logical, Piggy is smart, and Jack is barbaric; what made them who they were? They were kids.............

The impression................ great read!
