What is the end of novel?? Any punishment for jack and his fellows??

THe end of the novel is a Deus ex Machina or "God in the machine". Golding simply ends his experiment; the sailor rescues them. Golding really isn't concerned with the aftermath. We can surmise that the truth will come out. Jack, being a boy, would need some major therapy. I think Golding really points out that all was lost with the death of Simon and to a lesser extent Piggy. What happens to the boys later is up to the reader.
