Jack calls this "war paint." Does that forebode anything?
Yes, Jack calls his new mask war paint or "dazzle paint". This foreshadows his eventual complete separateness from his former self. It is a harbinger of a new socio-pathic little boy bent on destruction of his enemies and eventually himself.
