Lord of the Flies

In William Golding's "The Lord of the Flies," a group of children struggle to survive on a deserted island. Is this an example of internal or external conflict? I think it is external!

Is the struggle of the boys to survive on the island an example of internal or external conflict?

It is, on the surface, external. You might consider man (boy) vs nature as well as the boys against each other. Getting into the narrative, we can see plenty of internal conflicts as well.
