In Chapter 5, a boy named Percival comes during the meeting. He says his full name and address and says "telephone, telephone, tele?" What is happening to the him?

When it is Percival turn to speak, as he gives his name, he also recites his address and telephone number. This reminder of home, however, causes him to break out into tears. Once he starts, all of the littluns join him in crying.
