How is this trip up the mountain both similar and different from the trip at the beginning of the story?

As with the beginning of the story, the boys are exploring. In the early chapters there was a sense of innocence, friendship, and excitement. Unlike the beginning of the story, this trip is filled with fear, trepidation and negativity.
