Piggy is an outsider because of his "fatness",  asthma, and logical thinking. Piggy probably was the boys' best chance for getting rescued or at least surviving in a civilized way. Piggy was organized, innovative (he wanted to build a clock!) and respected the rule of order. Unfortunately the boys used Piggy as their big joke because of his looks and asthma. Piggy was an outsider and least listened to even though he had preciously important things to say.
