Jack is obsesses with obtaining complete power over the boys. His treatment of Piggy is horrific; he punches him and verbally abuses him, in addition to withholding food from the hunt.

Jack is changing into the socio-path that he has always dreamed about being. His Mask seems to give him the imputes to become an animal. Jack uses Piggy to manipulate his own popularity. Piggy is seen as weak. Jack bullies him when he needs to bring the boys further to his side.
