HELP Weapons?

i need to do a report about the weapons they used on the island

can anybody help?

The first is Jack's knife--which is odd in itself: why is a choir boy carrying a knife?

Then the boys fashion spears. Over time they improve these by cutting barbs into the points and hardening them over the fire.
