Jack wants to hunt the beast
The conch gives other boys the power to speak. Jack hates this. He wants complete control. He feels threatened by it.
Ralph wants to have a meeting about the beast "sighting."
Jack says they do not need the conch because he's slowly taking over as leader, and he doesn't intend to lead a democracy. At this point in the novel, the boys have completely given up on civilized behavior..........

1.- ralph wants the boys to get more kindling for the fire, and he just wants them to work on the fire and only really focus on that, non of the boys want to do that because they wanna hunt with the rest of the boys.
2.jack says they don't need the conch because he says people should no who should and shouldn't talk, listen to the elders, the people who matter, people know by now who make the decisions and who talks
