Chapter 4 page 68 did roger actually got whipped for trying to throw a rock at Henry?

Roger was watching Henry then he threw a rock but he missed on purpose then the book said "Roger had whipped behind the balm bole" so roger got whipped as a punchment because of trying to throw a rock at a littluns and the book said "again" so it wasn't the first time for roger getting whipped is that right???

I think it means whipped as in moved quickly to stay hidden.
