Chapter 12: The Stick's Irony

What is unusual about “the stick”? How is this an example of dramatic irony?

Thanks

The stick sharpened at both ends indicates that Jack wants to behead ralph and make it an offering to the beast. The reader knows this because of the pig's head on a stick a few chapters before.
