at first, ralph is surprised by how clearly he is able to think and speak, how is this ability changing?

Ralph is learning about the fine art of rhetoric and manipulation. Slowly he begins to lose this to Jack who does a better job of it. The kids are more savage and chaotic. Jack is able to appeal to their primal desires while Ralph bores them with responsibility.
