3. How does beast from the air dive the boys at first? How does this bring them together at the end? Who is left behind and why?

The twins first see the beast from the air. Their exaggerated description of big "claws" and "heath"put fear into the boys. They shudder at the prospect of a real beast and resolve to stay below. Eventually the boys gather the courage to search for it. In numbers there is power and this group feels a sense of safety. Jack's bravado also brings them together under the illusion of strength. The "weak" boys are left behind, namely Piggy and the "littluns."
