In Act IV, Scene I, the conflict between Edmund and his father comes to a head. Edmund blames his father for his mother's addiction..... for having her treated by a second rate doctor because he was too cheap to see a good one. The tables turn when Tyrone tells Edmund that his mother would never have become an addict is he'd never been born.
