Why do you think "I have a dream" has lived on as one of the best-known speeches in modern history?

I think this phrase means hope. After all the racial strife in America, Martin Luther King sees the Promised Land in his dreams. It is an America where blacks and whites live in harmony as equal. The line holds such power in its simplicity. It is a dream of hope turning into reality.
