Much of the letter is articulately organized for both the academic and common man to understand: that was part of King's brilliance. Section 1 explains exact why he is in Birmingham. The second section: introduction to passive resistance. Third section: patience has run out. Fourth section: unjust laws. Fifth section: white moderates need to step up. Sixth section: the church has to recognize the black cause. King also adds the unjust police for good measure. Altogether, King forms his argument with logical passion.
