What does Stacey say on the note he leaves when leaving home

This is actually in chapter 9. The next morning the family find a note saying Stacey is heading out to an $8 job far away because he feels he has to. He knew his family wasn't going to make enough money to pay their taxes that year, so he went to the cane fields hoping to help out.
