what was the deal General Montcalm and General Monroe made outside of the fort ?

The two men made a deal outside of the fort detailing Monroe's surrender (General Webb withheld reinforcements). The terms of their deal allowed Monroe's garrison to march out with war honors, retain their personal effects, and then be safeguarded to Fort Edward.
