Kurt Vonnegut's Short Stories

could it be that hazel's tears are foreshadowing the death of her son?

In the story "Harrison Bergeron" hazel is shown to be crying when she sees the dance. I was thinking that either she was a dancer before or that this is foreshadowing the death of Harrison.

I don't think that the tears foreshadow Harrison's death. I think that his mother has vague recollections of her son and this recognition is acknowledged as she sees her son on television. The image taps her subconscious that her handicap cannot control. She feels a sense of loss but cannot articulate it.
