The "wrath" of King Lear is encompassed by his anger for Cordelia (once his favored daughter), and the actions he takes because of the slight he feels she's shown him. Have you ever heard the story, Moss Gown? It's a fairy tale in which a father asks his daughters how much they love him; the two oldest daughtes flatter and fawn, whereas the youngest says, "I love you more than meat loves salt." Her father's reaction, much the same as King Lear. I;ve used both Shakepeare's Lear and this children's tale together to promote understanding.
