Well, Brutus, thou art noble; yet I see
Thy honourable mettle may be wrought
From that it is disposed; therefore it is meet
That noble minds keep ever with their likes;
For who so firm that cannot be seduced?

The above lines come from Cassius' soliloquy in the second scene of Act I. These lines speak to the role of rhetoric and manipulation that was present in politics and continues to this day. In general, politicians are master manipulators..... they convince people of what they want them to believe and use their inspired ideals to accomplish their own selfish ends.
