Chapter 10- Professor Liedenbrock and his nephew travel to meet with Icelandic savants (wise men or experts) and visit libraries hoping to find additional information from Arne Saknussemm. Unfirtunately, there is no information because Saknussemm had been charged with heresy and hung. His books were destroyed.

Chapter 12- Axel and his uncle travel across the Icelandic island with their guide on horses along the shore until reaching a boat, which they promptly board.
