"I bet Lee there's got it on his phone. Pea. Tanya. I know Davey has. He filmed it. Show him, Davey."

Troy

Troy tells Johnny that Frank and Danny urinated on him and in his mouth when he was passed out partying one night. The kids he is with now all know about it; Davey even filmed the whole thing, but no one has ever told Johnny this.

"I feel suddenly light. Like I'm in the middle of light. Like a flame. Or a dancer. I feel light. Like pure light."

The Professor

The Professor says this to Johnny after he tells him of how he had been searching for his Mary, but realized after being on an acid trip that it can't be Mary. Mary is gone. This statement is a tender moment for The Professor, who has a clear moment of reality, and that for him is an important movement as he lives primarily in fantasy.

"School is a lie. Prisons are a waste of time. Girls are wondrous."

Johnny

Johnny says this portion of his speech to his six year old son Marky in order to give him as much truth that he can articulate to a child about life. Johnny knows that he is about to die.

This is rooster Byron’s dog, shep, informing Kennet and Avon council to go fuck itself. Woof woof!

Johnny

Johnny says this to Fawcett and Parsons after they try to evict him from his caravan. Butterworth positions this quote to be quite ironic, as the audience knows that it is Johnny and not actually a dog. This maneuver adds some humor to the play and for the audience. The use of taboo shows the sarcastic tone and stupidness of Johnny’s voice.
