I suppose this depends on what constitutes "embarrassing". Jane’s aunt and cousins take every opportunity to neglect and abuse her as a reminder of her inferior station.This is really an enforced embarrassment rather than a a quirkiness in her personality. Jane tends to assume things and finds herself a little embarrassed in situations of intimacy like with Mr. Rochester.
