I suppose it is a happy ending. The narrative skips ten years in advance. Jane and Rochester are happily married and Rochester has his eye sight back. Jane, however, is not so concerned about her ending as she is about St.John. I thought it was interesting that Jane uses St. John's story to deal with many of the themes in the story that needed closure.
