James and the Giant Peach

How might the name of James' two aunts be an example of foreshadowing?

Foreshadowing is a litrary device where in the author provides clues of possible future events in the story. How might the name of James' two aunts be an example of foreshadowing?

From Aunt Spiker's name, we can infer she's prickly, distant, and not altogether nice. This foreshadows her cruel treatment of James.

Aunt Sponge is a bit more difficult, but think about what sponges actually do...... Aunt Sponge's name foreshadows he treatment of James, and we can infer that she will take the life out of him.
