Into Thin Air

What seemed to be underlying causes for the bickering among Rob hall and Taiwanese and south African teams over fixing ropes up the Lhotse face?

Initially, members from each group were supposed to make sure all ropes were fixed in place. The Sherpa's from Hall and Fischer’s team complain that the Sherpas from South African and Taiwanese teams will not even get up from their tents to help them. While the Taiwanese teams try to make amends, the South African leader just makes things worse by throwing a fit.
