Would having Buckley along have made any difference in any of Chris's decisions?

This hypothetical question considers whether or not Chris would have listened to Buckley and whether or not having Buckley along would have helped Chris not to get in such deep trouble. Any time one can bounce ideas off of another person, there is the possibility of making another decision which would then change the outcome.
