Into the Wild

In the Author's note,

Krakauer says, " I won't claim to be a impartial biographer."

What do you think he means by that?

Krakauer feels a certain connection with Chris McCandless. Both were explorers of both place and spirit. Both had father issues and they wanted to live life deliberately. Although Krakauer departs from McCandless's final ideology, which killed him, he finds it difficult to completely extricate himself from the narrative.
