Into the Wild was a big success and continues to be widely read today. It spawned a major motion picture. The book's success is a testament to how Karakauer was able to explore the psyche of Chris Krakauer neither exalts Chris nor totally condemns Chris. We see a flawed adventurer who had the spirit of intellectual and spiritual exploration.
