Chapters 11-13 are about McCandless's relationships with his family. Do any of these descriptions cause an emotional reaction in the reader? If so, what is it about the sescriptions that causes this cinnection? Is it the words? Is it that we identify with the family situations? Do these effets make the book more powerful? Explain your answer.

This of course depends on the reader. Certainly Chris's abandonment of his family was a major flaw in his character. Krakauer makes this clear.
