Chris' first trip to Alaska was a road trip, but it was also a pleasure trip. He stayed around Fairbanks and fell in love with the Alaskan wilderness and landscapes in all their beauty. He was prepared, he had money, and he had a plan; part of that plan was a return to school.
Chris' second trip to Alaska was completely different. He wanted to be alone, and he wanted to live off the land. Chris knew there was a possibility he wouldn't survive. He was reckless.
