Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl

comprehension and analysis

in chapter 21, jacobs describes how she was treated as a slave and writes, "i was never cruelly overworked; i was never lacerated with the whip from head to foot... i was never chained to a log and forced to drag it about...on the contrary, i had always been kindly treated..." yet, jacobs decides to run away. should she have dealt with slavery because it wasnt "that bad"? what would you do in this situation? support your aanswer with quotes

This really depends on your opinion rather than mine. I could not fathom the idea of slavery. It would really depend if I had anywhere to run to.
