What does Dede mean when she thinks" the problem is I open my eyes and see for myself"?

Minerva says, “Some people can’t ever really see eye to eye.....Dede and I see perfectly from eye to eye”. Dede,however, says that when she opens her eyes she really sees for herself separately from her sisters or others.
