What does Dedé mean when she thinks” the problem is when I open my eyes and see for myself.”

Minerva says, “Some people can’t ever really see eye to eye.....Dede and I see perfectly from eye to eye”. Dede ,however, states that when she opens her eyes, she really sees for herself...... separately from her sisters or others.
