What are weaknesses for writing in multiple points of view?

Alvarez writes in many different points of view. What is a weakness for writing in multiple points of view?

I suppose one of the biggest weaknesses is that you never really get to know one character really well. Just when you think you have a grasp on Minerva or Maria Teresa, the point of view changes. Also you have to always be deciding if a given narrator is dependable or not.
