describe the town of holcomb

Holcomb is located in Kansas. It is a "lonesome" area, with "hard blue skies and desert-clear air, has an atmosphere that is rather more Far West than Middle West." The land is flat, the views beautiful, and the landscape is dotted with herds of cattle, horses and grain elevators.

There isn't much to see in town, an aimless scattering of buildings, railroad tracks, a depot, and businesses that no longer exist. The structures are unkempt and run down.
