How did Achilles express his constant grief over the death of Petroclus

Achilles was devastated by his good friend's death and held funeral games to honor him. After Patroclus was killed, Achilles ended his self-imposed exile from battle and entered the battlefield with a vengeance. His response to grief was to kill as many of the enemy as possible.
