I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings

Help please

In paragraph 2 & 3 of the excerpt from I know Why The Caged Bird Sings, Angelou describes Mrs. Flower's appearance and attitude. To what things does Angelou compare her? What kinds of figurative language does she use to make these comparisons? What is the affect of these descriptions on your impression of Mrs. Flower's?

Mrs. Flowers is compared to an aristocrat..... to the black community's answer "to the richest white woman in town."
