One of the first British doctors to help in Malala's care is female Dr. Fiona. Why is this ironic? And why is Dr. Fiona in Pakistan at the time of the shooting?

It is ironic that a highly educated woman was able to help Malala in a country where girls are denied education. Dr Reynolds was visiting the region with colleagues from the Queen Elizabeth Hospital to consult local medics on a starting up a liver transplant service.
