How does Malala describe the affect of the growing Taliban presence in her region?

The Taliban had been successful in manipulating people in the Swat and Pakistan was willing to let Swat alone for a while. The Taliban represented a narrow view of Islam. They forbid girls to be educated unless it was about their narrow view of Islamic faith. They forbid western things and ideas. They instituted religious laws and mercilessly executed these laws.
