Malala is very proud of the SWAT Valley. She feels it is a unique place both culturally and geographically. There is a sense that Malala resents the Pakistani government making decisions for the Valley. She especially resents the Pakistani government tacitly giving the SWAT Valley to the Taliban in order to appease theme and keep them out of other areas of Pakistan.
