I Am David

Symbolism in “I am David”

I've searched constantly for hours, yet I havnt found some of the symbolism answers I was looking for. Although I don't have the exact chapters, if anyone can help, please do. "Anne Holm uses several symbols in I Am David. Where and when do these items appear, and how what significance they take for David: David's eyes, Church, money, smiling, playing.

Money-money is a symbol of the outside world that David isn't concerned with.LIt represents greed which David sees as the folly of mankind.

Church- David himself is a Christ-figure. Although Davis is sympathetic to the church, he seems to be inclusive about respect and love for others.

I'm not sure about the rest.
