How to write a full & complete literature essay?

Today is Saturday night, and I have a Literature exam on Monday.

My classmates are always able to write 2 pages worth of worthy explantations to the questions while I am not even able to thinkc of many points to anwer the question, thus handing in a piece of paper with only 3 lines of words. Any tips/ suggestions?
