At times he seemed repressed, thoroughly Teutonic in outlook, yet his need to be loved was strong. He wanted love on his own terms. Interestingly, he seems to have a low opinion of women in general, but the one woman he was most attracted to mystified him. Was that the characteristic he found intriguing? That he couldn't figure her out? Or was it because of the ontological pull of DNA-familiarity? Or maybe he was convinced he was on the brink of Old Fartitude, and wished to regain some measure of his youth that he found Sabeth worthy of his affections?
