Why did Linda Walker not divorce with Trout Walker if the money was gone?

Linda Walker is a student of Kate Barlow and married Trout Walker for his money. Now that it's "dried out with the lake", why doesn't she divorce with him?

We never learn why Linda stayed with Trout. We do, however, know that she thought things would get better..... that the drought would eventually have to end.
