A critic commented that "Hedda Gabler is not so much a tragic character as the objectivication of evil." Comment of Ibsen's Hedda Gabler in the light of this judgement. Can anyone help here?

Hedda Gabler is completely evil, but in her defense there are reasons........ and that is not what you were asking for here.
Hedda's actions support the above description by the critic. She purposely goads an alchoholic into drinking, saying he's no longer masculine. She steals from her husband's aunt..... a dying woman, and later attempts to trick a man into committing suicide.
